Unlocking Deep Healing Through the Mind-Body Connection
What is Brainspotting Therapy?
Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-based therapy that helps you access and heal deeply held trauma, emotional blocks, and unconscious patterns. Developed by Dr. David Grand, Brainspotting works with the brain’s natural ability to process and release trauma by focusing on specific eye positions, which are connected to deeper regions of the brain where trauma and emotional memory are stored.
Brainspotting helps bypass the thinking mind and access the body’s natural healing instincts. By holding your gaze at a particular “brainspot,” the brain and nervous system can process and release stuck emotional and physical patterns at a deep level.
How Does Brainspotting Work?
During a Brainspotting session, I will guide you to:
✅ Identify the emotional issue or traumatic experience you want to work on.
✅ Focus your gaze on a specific “brainspot” — an eye position that corresponds with a specific emotional response or memory and activates the deeper emotional memory network.
✅ Stay with the sensations and emotions that arise while we allow your brain to process what comes up a supportive, resourced way.
✅ Allow the brain and nervous system to naturally release and integrate the experie
Example: If you’ve experienced a traumatic event, a certain brainspot might bring up emotional and physical sensations connected to it. By staying with that spot and allowing the sensations to process, the brain can release the trauma and create a new, healthier pattern.
Who Can Benefit from Brainspotting Therapy?
Brainspotting is highly effective for:
✔️ Trauma and PTSD
✔️ Anxiety and panic attacks
✔️ Chronic stress
✔️ Performance issues (creative blocks, public speaking, sports)
✔️ Physical symptoms connected to emotional pain (headaches, muscle tension)
✔️ Phobias and fears
Brainspotting works particularly well for highly sensitive people and empaths because it bypasses overthinking and taps into the body’s natural healing process.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is Brainspotting different from EMDR?
Brainstpotting was developed by an EMDR trainer, and is sometimes considered an evolution of EMDR. Brainspotting works at a deeper brain level and allows more organic processing without structured sets of eye movements. Brainspotting tends to be more flexible and adaptable and catered to the clients specific needs. Due to resourcing built into Brainspotting, it can be less overstimulating and overwhelming than EMDR.
Do I have to talk about my trauma for Brainspotting to work?
No. You can talk as little or as much as feels right with this type of therapy. Brainspotting allows your brain and body to process trauma without needing to recount the experience verbally.
Can Brainspotting help with chronic pain?
Yes — many physical symptoms are connected to unresolved emotional stress. Brainspotting can help release these patterns.
